Background
Part of the US Inspector General’s fiscal year 2014 annual audit plan was to audit one of the client’s large health projects in Jordan.
The audit objective was to determine whether the project was achieving its goals and to understand the client’s project metrics.
Because of the potential ramifications of poor audit findings, the client needed a neutral third party to perform a preliminary internal audit of the project performance monitoring plan and reports.
Solution
We conducted a thorough data quality audit of project metrics, assessing the validity, integrity, precision, reliability, and timeliness of all data and program reports.
We proposed specific and relevant amendments to the client’s metrics to improve both quality and clarity of results.
The client revised plans and records as recommended and had a smooth and successful Inspector General audit.
