Diversity & Inclusion Focused Cultural Initiative: Workshop Design and Framework

Diversity and Inclusion Workshop: Purpose, Vision, Values and Strategies

Client

A Seattle-based architect firm was hoping to address Diversity and Inclusion and augment its culture of engagement in 2018.

Background
  • The company was experiencing fluctuations in its business cycle and looking to continue to stabilize with proactive measures to be diverse and inclusive.
  • The team was a mix of tenured folks with some recent hires and a fairly diverse talent pool. There was a clear opportunity to define and continue to support what it means to be equitable and inclusive.
  • In addition to developing and facilitating a workshop to address D&I, WeekdayRx focused on how to tie some of their imminent cultural desires directly to their business goals. This helped shape a business case for empowering perspectives company-wide, in order to grow further as a business.
  • The company needed assistance gathering insight and re-articulating who they are and what they value as an organization. In addition to designing activities within a full day retreat, WeekdayRx developed a framework that the firm could use for supporting diversity within the current culture and attracting diverse talent to the organization.
Solution
  • WeekdayRx developed a strategic framework, focusing on a their collective rally-cry and ensuring that values were aligned. This framework included a North Star Purpose statement, Vision statement, re-articulated Values and prioritizing Goals based on perceived and desired strengths. We conducted a full day workshop that included the entire client team.
  • Our team helped the client to crystalize and integrate key business and cultural objectives by creating consensus and identifying strategic pillars for the company.
  • The company has reported that overall engagement is up and they are on a growth curve that has far exceeded expectations for 2019.
